1.    Not developing yourself as a leader

One of the things that most people overlook is positioning themselves as leaders. This is all about you as a person, not the products or the company that you are promoting. People follow a person not products or a company. As such, you need to take your time developing yourself as a leader who is trustworthy and ready to lead by example. Promoting the products and not yourself will only relegate you to nothing but a follower. You need to build trust by providing people with rock solid information about why they should trust and follow you.

2.     Not getting the right training

One of the serious mistakes that I made is when my upline recruited me into the network marketing business, I decided to go out and started recruiting new members and trying to sell the products without the slightest knowledge of how to do it. All I was told was to make a list of all my circle of influence which included my relatives and friends. First and foremost, start with the training and make sure you complete it.

3.      Being jealous and selfish

In the network marketing industry everyone is supposed to prosper as long as they work hard enough. As a team leader you should not be self centred and hope that it is only you who is going to be successful alone. This is all about the entire network team. You should therefore freely share network marketing ideas with your prospects without a grudging heart because by so doing you earn trust and loyalty.

4.      Making false claims about your company

One of the most critical things to do is to build some leaders within your network marketing system who can be able to assist you prosper. Some people chose to make false claims that when prospect join they will be rich tomorrow. If you do that then you’re invited because it will backfire sooner rather than later. Prospects hate to be lied to or fooled; if they discover that you did not tell them the true then you should simply through in a towel-period!

 5.      Being swayed by network marketing scams

 Network marketing is one of the most lucrative businesses which can be done from home to supplement your income. With the economic down turn network marketing is the most attractive business avenue that produces dividends most of the time as compared to other business ventures out there. You should be cautious not to fall into the hands of network marketing scams. There is a lot of hype and sensationalism around this business. As such, many people have lost millions of their hard earned cash in their quest to venture into this business.

 6.      Focus more on  your friends and relatives as your prospects


When I joined this business one of the things which I was told was to develop a list of all members of my circle of influence. The list included my friends, my friends’ friends and members of my extended family. If you are serious about creating a multi-million dollar network marketing business you need to treat your business as a business and not a hobby. You need to be serious and take a professional approach towards it. Pleading with network marketing prospects to join your network marketing group will destroy your reputation. This will ultimately cast doubts among your prospects’ mind about your business model. When this happens you will certainly be rejected by prospects and your credibility will never be restored.
